| Date: May 5th Location: Dover, England |
| Places Stayed/ Visited: Dover, the North Sea. Got on cruise ship (it's huge) Memorable Event: it was helarious to try and get 8 heavy luggage ladden people across London on commuter trains. We ended up missing our first train and hoping a second due to ticketing issues. When we finaly got on the train we were forced to take up three seats in the first class seating area just to fit our luggage on the train! It was a long and boring ride to Dover but when we finaly got there and spewed out of the train with all of our luggage we hailed some taxies to take us to the docks. Some one went and hailed them while we dealt with luggage. when we all came out of the station the driver laughed at us and claimed the need for 3 taxies, which was good beacuse we where cramed in like sardeins even with three. Notes: Today we traveld to Dover via train and taxi. After we finaly made it to the dock we taged out luggage and climed abord the ship, which was huge and amazing it looked like a hotel on the inside. once we where all checked in and found our room, which was quaint and really nice, I wandered the ship. After a while grandma and I went and ate lunch. Then we had to go through this safty drill wich took forever...and ever...and ever..and well you get the point. after wards grandma and i found a ping pong table and played for a little over an hour. at which point we decided that it was dinner time. but it was the 20 mininuites that i had been reassured that i do in deed get sea sickness, so grandma introduced me to these little sea sickness bands that you where around your wrist. after we went down to the 4-seasons (on of the restraunts on board). we found our group and had a lovely meal by the window watching the sun go down under the horzion on the ocean. I had a skirt steak and it was wonderful. After dinner we discovered a concert painist who was just marvalous. we sat in the coffe bar (its really more like a lounge) and talked untill nearly midnight, to which we all disbanded into our rooms and went to bed. |
