Please, flattery will get you everywhere�we�re just a couple of guys living on a wing and a prayer.But really, I�ve posted my ad to teach a lesson, and I would like to help you promote your site here locally so that I can get more students. How can I help? Oh! Is that what you meant? In that case, we are more than happy to help you help us help you. Download one of our sexy flyers, designed by our friends at xyz media, print them, and distribute them anywhere that is legal, public, or where you have permission to do so. Good places to put them are on bulletin boards at local grocery stores, guitar stores, and any other place where people tend to look for lessons and activities. There is plenty of white space on the flyer, so if you want to create a little rubber stamp with your own information on it, feel free to stamp it right onto the page, so long as there�s nothing inappropriate on it, and post away!WiseGrasshopper is not available in my town. Do you have plans to start servicing our area, and if so, when? The vision of WiseGrasshopper is to go global. We hope to launch a site for every geographic area eventually. As far as when it may happen, if there is particularly strong demand in one town, we will certainly focus our energies there, so feel free to let us know where you are and that you want WiseGrasshopper! WiseGrasshopper was founded by two gentlemen with backgrounds in environmental work, and the company is committed to reducing its carbon footprint as much as possible. We use a web hosting service that is completely powered by clean, renewable energy. We sometimes give preferential advertising space in our banner ads to environmental causes, either for a reduced rate, or free of charge. We recycle all paper used in our office, and when we�re not out surfing, our workdays are frequently fueled by organic, shade grown coffee. |
FOR TEACHERSWhat does it cost to register as a teacher? Basic memberships as teachers are free.How do I find a specific lesson I�m looking for? You can either browse our categories and subcategories by clicking through the links on our homepage, or you can punch in the type of lesson into our search feature.I can�t find the lesson I�m looking for or looking to teach. Do you have it as an offering? We try to be as comprehensive as possible in terms of our offerings. However, there are innumerable areas of self-improvement, and therefore we are always looking to add lesson categories to our list. If you have searched for your lesson by browsing the logical categories and subcategories, try to search for it in the search box in the upper right corner of the website. If neither avenue yields the results you are looking for, feel free to fill out our �Suggest category/subcategory� survey that open after unsuccessful searches. This survey will also open if you are browsing categories and subcategories and choose the �Category unknown� link. If we decide to add the category/subcategory you suggest, you will likely see it on our site within 5-10 business days.I teach several different musical instruments�piano, guitar, harmonica, keyboard, and trombone. Can I sign up to teach more than one lesson on WiseGrasshopper? Absolutely. You can view your list of �ads� when you log in. From your profile page, you can choose the link that says �Post New Ad�, which will allow you to post your services in other areas without having to enter in all your profile information again.I�m changing my email address, how can I edit my ad for the lesson I�m teaching? After you log in, you will see you Profile View, with your list of ads. You can update your email and other information there. If you need to edit your ad, click on the ad from your Profile View, then click on �Edit Ad�, and when you�re done, click on �Submit Changes� once and only once. An email will be sent to your old address confirming your changes.How do I remove my lesson from WiseGrasshopper? After you log in, select/click on the ad in your profile page that you want to delete. If will go to that lesson, and can delete it from there. |

WiseGrasshopper only acts as a conduit of information, not a source of recommendations. As much as we would like to validate the skills of each of our instructors, there is no feasible way to do so. Therefore, we give background information on what that subject is about, and good questions to ask your potential instructor, so that you have an idea of what the person offers and whether they�re qualified. If you still feel your instructor is not qualified, please flag their ad, but do so with care. All WiseGrasshopper asks is that you be honest and have integrity should you choose to flag someone�s ad. In the near future, WiseGrasshopper will offer a feedback system where registered users of WiseGrasshopper can leave a rating of their lesson with a particular instructor.Why would I choose a teacher that has a premium membership as opposed to those that have the basic membership? Premium members pay for certain benefits on WiseGrasshopper that make their listing show up more clearly to students looking for lessons. Paying for this service may imply a certain extra legitimacy to an instructor and their credentials. Once again, WiseGrasshopper makes no recommendations or endorsements of teachers, but rather serves solely as a conduit of information, so it is still wise to read over the questions you should ask your potential instructor, ask for references, and discuss with the person their experience and expertise before you begin lessons with them. |
