or on behalf of the spirit of love or equality. Under such fundamentalist views there is no room for any allegorical interpretations of God's Word - only literal translations suffice, which would mean, I suppose, that Adam wouldn't have had a belly button and that Cain would've had incest with his mother for the procreation of the human race, etc., etc., etc. The Canadian Alliance seems to have a clear, biased, two-tier system of social equality that limits our rights and freedoms, and continues to oppress and erode the inner sense of self-worth within alternative lifestyle people. What question could we possibly have for such oppressive, limiting social cruelty and philosophy, that blatantly refuses to consider all spiritual possibilities and others beliefs under the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms? There is no diversity under the Canadian Alliance agenda of intolerance when it comes to the issue of social equality and its legislative extension to same-sex marriages. We will continue to pray that the spirit that recognizes, respects and supports diversity will somehow reach those within the Canadian Alliance Party. At present, their intolerant spirit counters the true spirit of diversity and equality. There is a whole lot more behind each little slogan thrown so randomly forward in the guise of clarity.

Joe Clark said in the debate, "Mr. Chretien has lost his way. He's lost respect for you, has lost interest in his job and is squandering our opportunities." Mr. Clark also said, "I think a woman's right to choose has been settled in this country and if Mr. Day wants to reopen it he should have the courage to go out and open it directly, not through some indirect backdoor route such as a referendum."

Joe Clark certainly has a lot to say about other Political Party's, but where does the Progressive Conservative Party stand on the issue of extending social equality to same-sex marriages? Are the PC's open-minded enough to consider such legislation? Would the Progressive Conservative's take a stand for social justice in this matter even if it wasn't a popular public stand? By remaining silent - you and your Political Party help contribute to the current situation of social inequality and the ongoing oppression of alternative lifestyles.

Alexa McDonough stuck to her message that the governemet is short-changing medicare, education, and the poor to hand out $100 billion in tax cuts. She also said, "We see creeping onto the agenda in an increasingly atmosphere of intolerance issues that have to do with limiting choices... of women to make about their own reproduction and their own bodies."

Alexa proved at the Leader's Debate that the New Democratic Party offers a very different set of priorities but about her or the NDP's vision on the issue of social equality being extended to alternative lifestyle marriages, she remained silent. Are the NDP's hoping to gain popular support by avoiding this issue? Can you not see the oppressive results amongst the alternative lifestyle community as a direct result of ongoing religious and political avoidance of this social equality issue? Are the NDP's ready to take a stand in supporting legislation for the social equality extension of marriage to alternative lifestyle couples?

Gilles Duceppe, Bloc Quebecois leader, said in the debate, "In the last few days Jean Chretien said he's sorry for cuts in health care spending, sorry for cuts in unemployment insurance, sorry for cuts in education, sorry for cuts in social housing, sorry for spending the taxpayers money. I suppose he feels sorry for those who've been left behind by his government, but... Mr. Chretien will never be as sorry as them, his apologies will never account for the loss of dignity of so many people left behind."

Gilles, can you not see the alternative lifestyle people, couples, families and communities as part of those being left behind? Are you ready to take a stand in support of same-sex marriage equality for your people under the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms? Equal dignity is our God given right.

I'm not an eloquent writer. None of my stuff will ever appear in your local newspaper because I can't limit my thoughts to 250 words :-) But, I do know that when leaders deliberately shut up about
