Spiritual Eyes for the Love of Common Sense :-)

'...and so, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,' is a good place to be at, if ya don't wanna grow up! Even so, as the political and religious mouthpieces of this world continue their lip-service both in hard times and in good times, when churches and synagogues are empty, and when they are full; when the fear or the love of God drives your people back to your saving justice, and when their ramblings continue during those times when people no longer care for organized religion or politics - you know each of our hearts, those of us who are blameless, poor in spirit, yet walk in your law with your spiritual eyes to guide us. God, we're at that awkward time in history when once again wars and rumors of wars are gonna open up all sorts of topics and armaments and pizzas begging for your spiritual blessings as well as justifications of self and collective self in the name of faith. "Abram to Abraham" and, "we're the descendents of Israel, the commonwealth of nations that prophecy spoke of." God, it must break your heart to hear this sort of thing more and more. Leaders of large political and religious bodies will say they are speaking on behalf of us all. But are they? After all, in a fast-paced society - who has time to check Biblical details and specifics of prophecy to see if we're being deceived again or whether manipulated for some hype away from our quiet places with you? And, why have we once again reached this awkward time when history seems destined for destruction and where damnation of the weak seems par for the course? And, every time this happens everyone looks for excuses and certain people to blame for their own sins and short-comings. Mankind damns entire segments of your people when all they have to do is look at the state of affairs within each of their own hearts. Why is this? Where is the understanding of love and the qualities of love that Jesus spoke of and which we're to posses now in even greater measure because he's gone to be one with the Father? Where is the cloak of your saving justice established in our land?
Perhaps, if we were to take a brief look at history we could gain some sense of what childish development has done, and might discover some clues - some really identifiable areas where growth away from childish ways to that of an adult has become twisted and hampered, and in some way has caused limitations within our soul's development, that keeps us even now from acting in the fullness of love with renewed minds. And perhaps through this discovery we might seek spiritual eyes to break the holds that bind us, put off childish ways and thinking, and come to advance our faith to full development and understanding - where the law is fulfilled through love, even in same-sex marriages. This is my hope and prayer for the hearts of those who currently speak a lot of lip-service religiously and politically.
