The Gift Santa Claus Brings

Back in Myra town, as a Turkish "clown"
Children knew me for my love -
I surprised the poor, secret gifts I bore
"Perchance he came from above!?!"

Bags of money, "three" dropped down a chimney
Everyone "stared" at the sky!!
Happy hearts beating, twinkling eyes meeting,
"Could our Saint Nicholas fly?!"

One Holland winter, where "Saint's" a "Sinter"
They shortened my name to "Cleas"
It's funny to see, throughout history
How I became "Sinter Cleas!"

Yet my heart's the same, no matter "what name"
It's "giving" that shows us "how"
Give love to find trust, and know that I'm just
Jolly ol' "Santa Claus" now!

Elves help me make toys, for all girls and boys,
And we still surprise the poor!
Mrs. Claus helps me, help everyone see
"Love" is what "Christmas" is for...

Still jolly and plump, I sit on my rump
Sewing a new Teddy Bear -
'Cause "bear hugs" are dear... "And
"IN" for this year!!"
"Please give 'all folks here' their share!!"
