I Don't Listen To The News

September eleven came with hate
Enduring Freedom responds to date
Justice world-wide is needed today
Protect our rights, even for the gay!

Chief tells fundamentals, "Don't divide!"
Jerry returns to apologize.
Canada's Lib'rals boast their delights
Defeat Svend Robinson's noble sights.

I don't listen to the news
No respect for shallow views
Common parasites eat freedom's rights
Leaders ignore minorities plights.

I watched a gay on U.S. TV
He didn't have rights like you and me
But his heart was with President Bush
Oppressed by law, yet strong in self-worth.

You open me up, take what you need
And you don't give a damn how I bleed
You talk of justice, power and might
But inside your soul, your heart's not right.

I don't listen to the news
No respect for shallow views
Common parasites eat freedom's rights
Leaders ignore minorities plights.

My Spirit's refined, I'm not "better"
I fulfill your laws to the letter
Yet even today you limit me
Because you're afraid of "what COULD BE!"

A world of love, no male or female
A love so strong it would never pale
A loving Earth, where everyone's free
And all of us live in harmony.

I don't listen to the news
No respect for shallow views
Common parasites eat freedom's rights
Leaders ignore minorities plights.

Respectfully dedicated to: Svend Robinson
and in sympathy and understanding for all
of those Canadians affected by the Liberal majority
defeat of his private members bill that supported
legislation for same-sex marriages.
"Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do."
