| Innocence We walked in innocence Child-like and free, Laughing at adventure Both you and me. Touching our spirits With sunlight and song Drifting past turtles - Feeling so strong. Rising from pavement: Seizing the day! Creating excitment Wherever we'd stay. Rapp'nin' an' happ'nin' Keepin' our beats, Our dreams are expandin' Up from the streets... Suddenly watching Heartless they came Crowding their coldness Directing their aim - Spraying their glances Upon you and me 'Tempting to toughen What their eyes cannot see. Blind fools! - Wisdom's blast! Heroes together - We YAWP on past! Our foundation is pure Built brick upon brick, Fallen from robbery Our comeback's been quick. Forever with inner sense Honesty cries - "Come fly with 'my angels' In the soul of 'your eyes.'" Daniel B. Hanewich July 18/89 For Marcel "Johnny" Simard |
