Kits are available for the 94-98 models and need for speed just released a powerdyne kit for the 99+ models. Vortech also has recently released a new supercharger for the 94-98 models called the SQ (Super Quiet) compressor. It can squeeze out a little more power than the older V-2 Compressor and its also much quieter. But it still whines and chirps a little bit at idle.
These kits can be installed on stock cars but better head gaskets and exhaust is recomended. The superchargers will max out at about 8psi of boost. If you want to add more power with your supercharger you can increase boost by changing the pulley to a smaller one. You can get pulleys to adjust boost in 2psi increments 10psi, 12psi, 14psi, ect... In my opinion the highest you should go on a stock engine is 10psi of boost and even for 10psi I recomend that you beef up the fuel system with bigger fuel injectors and pump. If you want to go even higher your going to need to strengthen up the engine internals and its probally a good idea to get an intercooler. Because the air coming from the supercharger will be extremely hot and could cauze problems in the engine.
If you plan on getting a supercharger, dont go straight for the power first. Buy all the small things to get your car ready and it will run alot better and faster than it would on a stock car. When I say all the small things" I mean gears, exhaust, port and polishing, upgrades to fuel system, suspension, ect.. This way you'll be ready for the added power and a much faster car. And once you get the supercharger it would probally be a good idea to get a custom burned computer chip or a dyno tune to make sure everything is running good and that there is no harm being done to the engine.
