Using Nitrous (My Setup)
Intro
All of us have heard the nightmare stories about using nitrous.  The truth is there all true.  Nitrous has a bad reputation due too careless people using it.  Nitrous is a very safe way to add alot of power if its done right.  People will put a 250 shot kit on a Honda and wonder why it blows up.  You have to get a kit thats right for your car and make sure everything is installed properly, and you will have very pleasing results.
What Do I need?
I purchased the 5115 kit from NOS.  This kit adds 75 horsepower and will cost you about $500 from vendors such as Jegs.  The kit comes will most all parts needed for a basic installation. (hoses, wires, relays, switches, bottle, ect...)
This kit can be used on stock cars but I recomend a better fuel pump at the least.  I Hooked up nitrous before they made a kit specifically for the V6.  NOS now has a kit made just for the V6 that is adjustable from 50-80hp.  Its the 5124 kit.
What Else Should I Get?
The first thing you will need are screws/bolts to mount the bottle the way you want it.  The best place is in the trunk away from the passenger area.
I aslo recomend a better fuel pump because the nitrous is going to want to burn alot more gas alot faster if that needed fuel is not there then you could have detonation which can cauze internal engine damage and head gasket failure.  Another thing you may want is higher flowing fuel injectors.  They are not needed but would help.
I also recomed an aftermarket performance chip to remove the speed limiter.  The reason I recomend this is because if your running nitrous and you hit the speed limiter the fuel will cut off but the nitrous will cotinue to flow and that is not a good thing.  The chip will also reduce timing which can prevent detonation.  The best chip for nitrous use would be a flip chip.  A flip chip is one that has 2 modes:  one for normal street driving and one for nitrous use.  These would be most efficient and the best way to go.  But watch your wallet flip chips are expensive.
I used a blow-down tube with safety fittings from NOS to vent all nitrous from the car in case pressure in the bottle reaches dangerous levels.  The average bottle runs at 900psi.  And the only time you would ever have to wory about rising bottle temperature would be in extreme heat, If you use a bottle warmer never forget to turn it off.  Ive seen trunks of cars blow threw garage doors because people left the bottle warmer on.
Another handy item I bought was the remote bottle opener which allows you to open and close you bottle with a switch.  I mounted mine in a custom swich panel made in the existing AC vent along with the main nitrous switch as you can see in the picture below.
Installation
Installation is fairly easy.  First thing you gotta do is mount the bottle in the trunk.  Then run your wires and hoses, and find a nice way to setup your switches.  The hardest part is installing the fan spray nozzle.  Its easy if you have a metal intake tube (ex: Mac Cold air intake or Supercharger tube.  Just drill and tap a hole.  If your still using the stock rubber thing you may want to drill into your throttle body. (Ouch!)
The biggest pain when installing nitrous is leaks!  I must have almost went threw an entire bottle trying to keep all the fittings from leaking. The manuals say not to use tephlon tape yet it was the only way i could get it to stop it from leaking.  If your going to use tape just be sure not to get and into the lines.
Below you can see some basic pics of a NOS kit installed on a V6.
Under The Hood In The Trunk
Using The Nitrous
The kit comes with a switch that mounts on the throttle body.  This way the nitrous is automaticly engadged at full throttle.  Im not completely satisfied this method.  Nitrous is not supposed to be used at low rpm levels (below 2500) with this method its engadged as soon as you hit the gas therefore engadging before a safe RPM level.  Also this method can cauze excessive wheel spin at take off.
I recomend a push button setup of some sort.  This way you can only use the nitrous when you want and when rpm levels are safe.  Also its a BLAST slamming that button and blasting the competition.  Another method would be an MSD window switch,  This will allow the nitrous to be turned on and off automaticly at rpm levels that you select.  Pretty cool.  I have one but have yet to install it.
Tuning
Most kits come with a standard size horse power shot.  For example mine the 5115 kit came set for 75 horse power.  Jets can be adjusted to change the amount of nitrous sprayed.  If you have the 5115 kit here is a few jet combos you can use.
25 Horsepower:   Nozzle = 22  /  Tee = 59
50 Horsepower:   Nozzle = 32  /  Tee = 42
75 Horsepower:   Nozzle = 42  /  Tee = 59
Ive tried all three and they seem about right.  75 is great along and 25-50 works well with the supercharger.

To keep system running the best it can be sure to check and clean in line filters after every one or two bottles.  Its also a good idea to check for leaks frequently, that nitrous is expensive and you dont want leaks.
Questions And Answers
How much will nitrous improve my performance?
For most applications an improvement of 1 to 3 seconds and 10 to 15mph in the 1/4 mile should be expected.
How long will a bottle last?
With a 75 hp kit and a 10lb bottle you can expect about 10-14 full quarter mile runs.  Or alot of fun on the street.
How much does nitrous cost?
Here in Maryland it costs an average of arounf 40 dollars to completely fill a 10lb bottle.
When is the best time to use nitrous?
At wide open throttle.  Due to the tremendous amount f increased torque, you will generaly find the best results (traction permiting) at earlt activation.  Nitrous can safely applied above 2,500 rpm under full throttle conditions.
