Nissan manufacture cars to the same high standard of build quality as other Japanese car companies. Toyota and Honda may have an edge in the build quality side of things, However Nissan has a reputation for building high perform turbo cars and racing them competitively. Nissan has carved a name for themselves in racing, mainly due to the scream for mummy performance of the Skyline GTR's. the GT-R, dominated its class of racing so absolutely that they changed the rules to ban it.
Nissan Skyline
Skyline GTR R32 Skyline GTR R33
Skylines came in a lot of different sports/luxury levels with the GTR being at the pinnacle. Not to say the gts-t isn't a good car. It's just the GTR is better. The main differences are engine puts out a few more kw's and you can put the car in to AWD as well. Add to this a knife edge suspension and a pretty up (body-kit and mags, etc) and u have a GTR.

Nissan 200sx/180sx/Silvia
This car has no real competitors (maybe the Mazda RX7) in the same price range, with similar characteristics. Rear wheel drive, 4 cylinder turbo.
This is where we have some confusion. These late model cars are all the same model. Over time Nissan has made changes to the model, thus the different names.
The S13 model (1989-1994) comes with two different bodies - the Silvia coupe and the 180SX hatch.
Silvia 180SX
From 1989-1991 the S13 came with the 1.8 litre CA18DET (turbo) or the CA18DE (Non-turbo). Then in 1991 Nissan swapped to the 2.0 litre SR20DET (turbo) or SR20DE (non-turbo). The S13 was never sold by Nissan Australia, there any example have come in to the country as a low volume import. These cars were mainly sold as automatics, with only about 10% being manual (it sucks). I have only shown the Turbo engines hear because, well they give the most grin factor. The Silvia has three luxury classes.
K- Turbo engine, LSD, mags, electronic stuff, the lot.
Q- N/a engine, optional LSD, Mags, electronic stuff.
J- Just the basics, steel rims, etc.
All 180SX are turbo.

The S14 and S15 models called the 200SX (1994-Present) has been and is still currently being sold it Australia. I feel the S15 200SX will take over as the cult car from the WRX. The S14 and S15 still use the SR20DET, With gradual enhancements (improving horsepower). There is no Normally Aspirated version of the 200SX.
