Little is known about Sir Real's past, other than before he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1995 his name was John Michael Real. A guitarist of the highest calibur, Sir Real has helped garuntee Kommissar's status in the history of music.

While Real's relation with Travis has been at times strained, the two have been able to put aside their differences in order to release the tribute single to President Ronald Reagan. Regardless of what's going on in their lives, the two members of Kommissar can always find time for conservatism.
