Monday, June 20, 2005

  • The teacher will read The Edible Pyramid:  Good Eating Everyday by Loreen Leedy.
  • Class will classify plastic foods according to the food pyramid.
  • Students will play the Food Pyramid Relay.

Tuesday, June 21, 2005

  • The teacher will read Gregory the Terrible Eater by Mitchell Sharmat.
  • The students will choose which foods Gregory should or shouldn’t have.  They will feed him the foods he shouldn’t have, and throw away those he shouldn’t.
  • The students will create a balanced meal by gluing pictures on a paper plate.

Wednesday, June 22, 2005 

  • Students will classify foods and use them to create balanced meals on a felt board.
  • Students will do group work, reinforcing what they have learned.  They will work with art, motor development, writing, computer games, and the felt board.  The writing and felt board activities will be their assessment of what they have learned.
  • The assessment activities will be graded using a rubric.
