This is a first for me. I'm quoting from a post of mine; which quotes from a post of another, and I'm responding to the same post which I'm quoting for the second time with a wholly different response. I think I can safely say I've taken posting to a new, utterly exotic, level.
"Whoever" was of course ERB himself. I wouldn't have signed his name if I had changed a word. From "Return" early in the "lion" chapter. This book is frustrating in some respects when you've read all the books. He keeps seeing this "odd Arab", he in fact knows who he is. He gets shot at. He sees this guy talking with the lieutanant. Where is this "lightning" ape-man. What about footprints. This guy is no good. Kill him now. What's wrong with you? Strangle him quickly, and be done with it. You can't imagine how you're going to regret this off-hand approach to danger. You won't believe what you're going to go through as a result. Wake up, Tarzan. Kreegah. Bundolo. Now.
