Day 1:
Wake-up 3:00
Arrive in Fort Lauderdale - 12:30pm
Met the team by luggage pickup #3 (couldn't miss'em, all dressed in bright gold team tshirts)
Tim got lost in airport
left for hotel 1:30. 15 minute drive became 45 minute never ending maze of u-turns.
2:30 - finally arrive at hotel, unpack, and meet in lobby -- left for the mall to eat at the food court
Tim and I got ice cream at haggendaz (my first of many servings over the weekend)
Went back to hotel to get ready for 8:00 game against Plantation Copper, no wait.....plantation, "cooper's team, yah they real good."
Met in lobby to announce lineup and goals for the weekend (blue uniforms), left for fields, arrived at fields, started slow warmups at 7:00pm met Kelly Raw at the fields.
Recieved wrist bands and finished warmups in the outfield.
Game results 1-1 (Tie)
Record so far 0-1-0 (like tim says, more like a hockey record)
team talk, left for hotel, met in lobby, rents and sister hung out in the dining area of lobby,
players hung out in hotel rooms, don't talk about softball, and went to bed, lights out 1:30am
Day 2
Wake-up 10:30
breakfast in Tim/Dave's room. Tim hands out letters to individual players.Discussion of Summer 2003.
Get dressed for 2:00 game against Tropic Wave
Arrived at fields early to look around the complex.

Left for LUMS to eat lunch where we had a not so nice waitress.
food was not so good, Lums is now added to the list of dissappointing restaurants: Ryans and Lums
Head back to hotel to rest. met in lobby at 6:20 to announce lineups and goals.
arrive at fields 6:30. extra long warm-up because we forgot how to bunt.
Game 8:00 pm vs. Indy Magic

Game over, head back to hotel. met in lobby for team talk. Tim introduces new statistic for Danes Softball: a "debacle".
ordered pizzas and stayed in hotel for the night. Malek beat Tim in cribbage 120-119. rematch TBA

Day 3
Wake up 7:30 am
Breakfast downstairs, meet in team room in uniform.
arrive at fields around 9:00. warm-ups
10:00 game vs. (NY) Brewster Rockets
results - 3-2 (W)
record - 2-1-1
stayed on complex till next game.

2:00pm game vs. Lakeland Rage
results - 0-1 (L)
final record 2-1-2
game over, went back to the hotel. got ready for our night on the town. left for Ft. Lauderdale. on the way we saw the biggest cruise ship all lit up in the dark close up. very cool sight to see. drove downtown to the outside mall. there was live saxaphone player, very cool. best of all, there was a hagen daaz ice cream place. the girls snuck into the radison hotel and got ourselves up to the 14th floor in the elevator. walked up to the 19th floor and looked down to the ocean. not a sight you see every day. eventually we made our way up to LuLu's resturaunt. dinner was excellent. after dinner the girls and rents made their way down to the beach. much to our surprise we could see Tim and Karen up on the 19th floor of the radison. too bad they had to climb all 19 flights of stairs to get up there. We took some pictures of palm trees and other fun stuff. we made it back to the hotel all in one piece. We were pretty tired from the long, hot day so we crashed kinda earlyish.
Day 4:
everyone's flights left at different times for the most part. we said our goodbye's and went on our separate ways.
