Catalog Description of the Course
Study of the relationship of form: the elements and the principle of art and organization as an understanding of two-dimensional art design.

Introduction
Welcome to Art 110 Design 1. This is a participatory, hands-on studio art class.  The course will focus on the investigation of the visual elements and principles of design.  Class activities will be a combination of studio projects, demonstrations, and critiques focusing on what you learn, and discussing works of art in two-dimensional design.

It is my responsibility to challenge you.  It is also your responsibility to challenge yourself.  I expect you to take ownership of your creative ideas.  Communication is important. If at any time you have questions about the course or the steps involved in any artistic process, please see me in class, during office hours, or contact me by email or phone.
