The Manners Family of Hunterdon County, New Jersey is actually more "Stout" than "Manners."

John Manners, the Yorkshire immigrant to New Jersey,  married Rebecca Stout, daughter of David Stout and Rebecca Ashton and granddaughter of Richard Stout, the founder of the English Stouts of New Jersey, and his wife, Penelope Van Prinzen.

John Manners II, married first, Mary Higgins, granddaughter of Jediah Higgins and Hannah Stout, g-granddaughter of Jonathan Stout and Hannah Bollen, and g-g-granddaughter of Richard and Penelope.

Lydia Manners, sister of John II, married James Stout. James' parentage is uncertain, but he is likely a descendant of Richard and Penelope.

Abraham Manners, g-grandson of John II, married Mary Stout, daughter of Charles Weart Stout and Sarah Merrill, granddaughter of David Stout and Margretta Weart, g-granddaughter of Andrew Stout and Sarah Stout, g-g-granddaughter of David Stout and Elizabeth Larison, g-g-granddaughter of Jonathan Stout and Mary Leigh, g-g-g-granddaughter of Jonathan Stout and Hannah Bollen, g-g-g-granddaughter of Jonathan Stout and Hannah Bollen, g-g-g-g-granddaughter of Richard and Penelope.

Several other sidelines of the family also married into the prolific Stout family.
