PROVENANCE
A family heirloom from Stockholm Sweden, it was imported to the USA over a dozen years ago, along with other items of inheritance. Previously identified & appraised for import purposes as created in (circa) 1890 and valued in Dec. 1989 @ 30.000,00 KR (30000 Swedish Crowns were then worth approximately $5,000.00 US, at six kr. per one $ m/l.) The chandelier has hung for 14 years in our family residence after importing it. Paperwork documenting importation data was lost in a fire in 1995.

As a daughter and before moving to the USA to marry, the owner lived for a decade with her parents in a beautiful old home (previously owned by one of Stockholm's Mayors) in Sweden. The old mansion even remains to this day on the corner of Poppelvgen & Korsvgen which is located in the exlusive ppelviken area overlooking one of Stockholm's many picturesque bays.

In such homes, chandeliers hung in many rooms and are often, even almost always, taken from home to home when relocating but this one was not. They are most commonly, if not usually, passed from generation to generation as family heirlooms. As such, they rarely become available for purchase: thus frequently becoming unobtainable at nearly any price, until someone dies heirless or a need arises.
