The Dandys, York Fibbers, Sunday 20th September 1998
This was originally billed as a support slot for the Candyskins, but
was in
fact was a headliner for everyones favourite northerners the loveable
Dandys. The gig was actually quite packed, by Sunday night standards
anyway
and all of Shed 7 were in attendance (yes, even Alan!).
There wasn't as much new material as I'd expected, but there was a
fantastic new tune called 'Karaoke'. The singles were equally
fantastic
though, especially 'You Make Me Wanna Scream' (which is just so good
live!)
and 'Dirty Weekend' which a lot of people were singing along to!
However,
my favourite was, as always, 'Johnny Foxtrot' which was the trippy
strobe
lighted finale. Why don't the Dandys ever do encores...?
