Vol. I: Sessions From The Shower, 2001-02
Of course, for years, Ive been writing, and Ive shared some with the community, and the public.  But now here at rusty land, Im going to start an exhibit of sorts, I guess you can call it. Im going to start posting my collections here and there for your reading pleasure.  The first collection being posted, the strangely titled Sessions From The Shower, is a collection of 12 pieces spawned from the 32 or so that have been written since a trip to Philadelphia in June 2001.  They are pretty much about the girls that have been in my life as of late, and just pieces that dont really have any meaning.  Oh well. Enjoy!
But of course, you probably want to know why Ive titled the collection
Sessions From The Shower.  That is simple:  it was Erin Auci who told me that the best time to sing is in the shower, for you sound good there, and youre all alone, and have no audience but yourself.   A few of these compositions actually spawned from mornings in the shower when I was scrubbing my body and washing my hair.  Melody here, few lines there, I would run them through my mind repeatedly until I got back down here to the computer, or to a pen and paper to get them down.  And of course, there are the few that spawned from me sitting at the piano.  And there are the two ('Theme,' 'Sleep On It,') that took me forever to get words for that I liked. Anyway, now enjoy the feast my web friends.

i want you
i need you
but now all i can see
is a picture of us in a
big tree house

i love you
i hate you
being all the way down there
in the deep deep south and
you are aware

that we're meant to be
we are exactly everything
to me
and you've made my day
and you're a thousand miles away

and you're the one
that i need
and you're the one
that i need
and you're the sun
and the moon
and the stars
and by june
i'll be with you

and you've made this day
being a thousand miles away
theme

here i am back here again
pouring out my heart you
screaming shouting let me be
what ive always wanted to
looking for you i see in your eyes
what i really am and always wanted
always wanted you
you

here we are finally face to face
after all the troubles in our space
wanting needing you right here
by my side for all these years
you hold me close hold me there
by your side ive always wanted
to be there
there

its like we always sleep
we havent weeped in too long

and ive wanted
everything for us
ive always wanted
it to be us
and its like we always sleep
we havent weeped  in too long
power outage

what a coincidence
havent we me before
i was working out my end
and i was a looking to score
see if i wouldnt be a bore
and now the power's gone
and i'm gonna sing this song
so we get along tomorrow
where we met
a few months ago
this must be heaven sent

you found me i found you what the heck
i hate when the power goes out
i could a wail a scream a shout
too much quiet  too much dark
too much thinking 'bout my pain filled heart

i just hope to reach you
when the power goes boom
and i dont know if it's a sign
i'm so stupid wanna be mine
i don't know baby i don't know
the dream isn't over

Will you take me home
To the deepest place
Away from all this
Beautiful disgrace

I believe there could be you and me
Watching all the world go free
In the summer time

Well go to the show
Rock out hard
Ill take you back to the start
Well make out in my car
Ride the ride
Act far out far
Make believe this is all the dream
Eat dessert, have some ice cream

Would you take me back
To the place where we were it
Take me home
In your house
Where we can be
Quiet like a mouse

Weve been drinking away the hours
Listening to all the raw power
Charge from the radio
And dont you wish we could get so far
In my car

Dont dream its over
Nothings fake
Its all real
We got each other
And Ill get you back
In the end

Dont dream its over, it's never over
This dream isnt over
spirit of '76

now that i know where we stand
its back to me being your man
weve gone back to the good ole days
when happiness was the warmest fish you never catch
and i feel alright
we are the sight
right now i feel alright

i never thought all this complication would overrun itself
now we just have our love as the greatest wealth
weve gone back to what we loved the most
revisiting our spirits and our ghosts
and now i feel alright
you are the eye sore in sight
and now i feel alright

we have our future here and forever now
nothing more will ever foul
and the whole world knows that i feel alright
i am alright
that we are alright
that we are the sight
i feel alight
