Vol. I: Sessions From The Shower, 2001-02
Of course, for years, Ive been writing, and Ive shared some with the community, and the public. But now here at rusty land, Im going to start an exhibit of sorts, I guess you can call it. Im going to start posting my collections here and there for your reading pleasure. The first collection being posted, the strangely titled Sessions From The Shower, is a collection of 12 pieces spawned from the 32 or so that have been written since a trip to Philadelphia in June 2001. They are pretty much about the girls that have been in my life as of late, and just pieces that dont really have any meaning. Oh well. Enjoy! But of course, you probably want to know why Ive titled the collection Sessions From The Shower. That is simple: it was Erin Auci who told me that the best time to sing is in the shower, for you sound good there, and youre all alone, and have no audience but yourself. A few of these compositions actually spawned from mornings in the shower when I was scrubbing my body and washing my hair. Melody here, few lines there, I would run them through my mind repeatedly until I got back down here to the computer, or to a pen and paper to get them down. And of course, there are the few that spawned from me sitting at the piano. And there are the two ('Theme,' 'Sleep On It,') that took me forever to get words for that I liked. Anyway, now enjoy the feast my web friends. 01 A Thousand Miles Away 02 Theme 03 Power Outage 04 The Dream Isn't Over 05 Spirit of '76 06 Dreaming Of You 07 Gone Away 08 Natalie Gave Me Dyslexia 09 Last Year 10 Dying Wish 11 Skeep On It 12 Tex-Ass Blues

the dream isn't over Will you take me home To the deepest place Away from all this Beautiful disgrace I believe there could be you and me Watching all the world go free In the summer time Well go to the show Rock out hard Ill take you back to the start Well make out in my car Ride the ride Act far out far Make believe this is all the dream Eat dessert, have some ice cream Would you take me back To the place where we were it Take me home In your house Where we can be Quiet like a mouse Weve been drinking away the hours Listening to all the raw power Charge from the radio And dont you wish we could get so far In my car Dont dream its over Nothings fake Its all real We got each other And Ill get you back In the end Dont dream its over, it's never over This dream isnt over
