| rusty still tired. still. you figure by now that I would've recooperated from the madness that was Weezer night 2002, but I still feel like "poopy" (one of many new words I learned/taught myself this weekend ... the other word was "cunt rag", used by andrea describing something i don't know what it was). the show was just fantabulous .. but before we get to the show, you have the "pre-show car ride" an education in punk-rock-n-roll from andrea and "bon bon". the queers, pre-dookie'd green day, the eyeliners, the huntingtons, sloppy seconds, pansy divison, several bands that i knew existed, just that i never heard. they weren't bad. stopped at several mcdonald's restaurants so that andrea could use the little girl's room (4 stops total). driver pam, former wal*mart employee, felt bad and wanted to sing along because she didn't know the words to any of the songs. we arrive in wilkes-barre, at the first union arena, and can't understand what the people are saying (long story). we wait in line, kids being dropped off by mommy's and daddy's in their minivan. felt like it was a skating rink party rather than a weezer show. we get in .. pam and i head to the floor and have a primo primo spot. talk to some kids from the area, and we making fun of the other group of youngsters sitting on the floor. we push the one girl we didn't knew, but prevented her from landing on them (we aren't that mean of people). ozma - sucked, just like the last time except they thought they were the shit playing in a big arena. star was looking boring, i don't even know why she is in the band. what does she do but stand there, push a few keys on her casio hop up and down and sing. she doesn't even have a mic for christ's sake she's the sex appeal. saves the day - god they were awful. maybe it was the crowd control that made it so bad, though. i was packed like a sardine, wedged between some guy and a 40 year old mom trying to round up her kids at one point. i couldn't bear to watch them cause i was wondering where the hell everyone was getting to. weezer - they ruled. bearded rivers, rock and roll at its finest. new stuff was sounding great. same stage set, same kind of set list from baltimore. no new opener, though "death and destruction" was played and now had words. also played "burndt jamb," "take control," "dope nose," and "keep fishin'" from the upcoming maladroit album. (when i thought about it in the shower this morning for some reason, probably still codeine'd tylenol running through my veins, i realized they played 6 songs from each album, just one from pinkerton though they did play why bother with tired of sex the first two nights, but as of friday night they swapped it for take control at the last minute. god damn you rivers. the only time we ever hear el scorcho anymore is at the begining of undone when brian and scott recite it. you pansy you). cried during "only in dreams" (waaah! i missed amy waaah!). caught some confetti though. that was cool. took some pics that will be nice i bet. dropping it off thursday to 1hour wal*mart, then ill post those and the good ones from the last time i promise. drive home was just talking about social issues: animal rights, abortion, music, etc etc etc. i'm really tired of typing now. but i got home around 2am, and amy wanted to call but had gone to bed, but she called in the morning. we missed our voices, carried good conversation. she's coming up for prom. 88 or 89 days to go babe. it will be here before we know it. yea. weezer's 10th bday on vday. i'm a thinkin of baking a cake and bringing it to school. i am just whack aren't i? |
