Chapter Four
Author's note: I made this chapter so long, I had to split it into two pages.  I know, I know, I should have made it into two chapters, but then it would mess up my story structure.  It doesn't look like it will, but trust me, it will.  I've provided a link for the next page so you can go to it.  Thanks!  - Beener
They were met by the pulsating beat of the music that the DJ was spinning.  Sabrina, Lauren, Joey and

Justin made an instant bee-line for the dance floor.  JC, Chris and Lance hung back, grabbing some seats at

the bar.  Watching Sabrina walk right up to a guy that she'd never seen and ask him to dance, JC commented

"She's the exact same as when she was last here."

"Well, almost the same," countered Lance.

"What do ya mean, man?" asked Chris.

"She's sure grown up a lot."

"No kiddin!" exclaimed JC.  "When I first saw her at Lauren's, I barely recognized her!  She's grown up

so much!"

"Well, said Chris carefully.  "She never had much of a childhood.  Ya know, with having to take care of

of Ally and Mel so much when she was growing up."

"Yeah, but she never looked this good," muttered Lance.

"What'd you say, man?" asked JC, giving him a weird look.

"Uhhh ... I said ... 'Yeah, she never had much of a childhood,'" he stuttered.

"Okay, man.  Whatever," said JC, still giving him the weird look.

Just then, Sabrina danced over to them, grabbed Lance's had, and dragged him out on the dance floor,

much to the amusement of JC and Chris.  They cracked up at the expression on Lance's face.  He was never

the real dancer type, but Sabrina always managed to get him out on the dance floor.  He wasn't a bad dancer,

he was just kind of self-conscious.

Lance noticed it too.  The fact that Sabrina could get him to do almost anything.  He thought about it often
on the road.  He also felt the most comfortable around her.  He was comfortable around Lauren, but Sabrina

was just different.  He couldn't place his finger on it, but somehow, she was different.  He didn't have to be

Lance Bass, of *NSYNC to ANY degree.  He didn't have to be positive and sweet all of the time, or quiet.  He

could let it all hang out, and vent about the things that were bothering him.  She could relate, because they had
been through a lot together.  They were in the Mississippi Showstoppers together, and they had grown up

together.  In fact, it was Sabrina's idea to try out for the M.S.  They had never dreamed that they would make
it together, and they would be paired up for songs so many times.

Lance had a very bad habit of letting things build up inside of him.  When the whole Jive vs. *NSYNC

lawsuit came about, everyone had marveled about how Lance had kept a level head throughout the whole

ordeal.  The real secret was Sabrina.  She had called him twice a week for the sole purpose of letting him talk

out all of his frustrations on the lawsuit.  Once, when he was in the M.S., he had a nervous breakdown, and

had ended up in the hospital.  He had let all of the stress of an upcoming show build up, and it had led to the

breakdown.  She knew, with the lawsuit, that it would all happen again.  So, she took it upon herself to let him
vent and let out all of his frustrations and emotions.  She often teased him that one day, she'd sue him for all

of the therapy bills.  If she only knew, there was one emotion that he never told her about.
