Chapter Ten
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two, and speak my point of view, but its not the same, its not the same.
With Blind Melon cranked, Sabrina pulled into the parking lot of Jive Records.
Ahh yes, Sabrina thought.  The breeding grounds for corruption and egotistical males.
Showing her parking pass to the guard at the gates, Sabrina pulled into the back parking lot.  Turning down her CD player and turning off the engine, she grabbed her backpack, climbed out of her car, and headed off to the building.
Once she got there, she had to do a bit of digging for her door key.  Finally pulling out her key, she inserted it into the lock, and pulled it out.  Pulling on the door, nothing happened.
Stupid electronic locks, she thought.  She tried it again, the lock not co-operating.  She groaned.  This is not working, she thought.  Digging in her bag, she pulled out her cell phone and pushed a couple of buttons.  Gotta love one-touch-dialing, she thought, grinning.  After a couple of rings, there was an answer on the other end.

     "Lo?"
     "Joey, is Lance there?"
     "Yeah, why?"
"Cause I wanna talk to him,
dur!"
     "Okay, just a sec."
She waited a couple of seconds, giggling when she heard a couple of muffled sounds that sounded like Lance was wrestling the phone away from him.
     "Hey
chica.  Sup?"
"Well, Im having a prob down here at the door."
     "What?"
"The key wont work and the door wont let me in."
"No prob, Sabs.  Ill just send down Brad."
     "Thanks babe."
     "Welcome.  See you soon."

Sabrina clicked off the phone, and waited for Brad.  And waited.  And waited.  About fifteen to twenty minutes went by, and Brad never showed.  Sabrina was starting to get worried and wondered what was happening.  She dug out her phone again, and dialed Lances number.

     "Yeah, Lance here."
     "Lance?"
     "Sabrina, where are you?"
"Still at the door.  Where the hell is Brad?"
"I have no clue.  I sent him down almost twenty minutes ago!  Ill go check."
     "Okay."
Suddenly, she heard James laugh in the background, and it sent shivers down her spine.
     "Lance, is James there?"
     "Yeah, he is."
     "When did he get there?"
"Ummm, a couple of minutes after I sent down Brad, why?"
She groaned.  "I think I know why he hasnt come down."
Lance figured out what she was talking about, and stared at James.  "Oh my God.  I think I know what youre talking about.  Ill see you in a couple of minutes."
     "Okay.  And Lance?"
     "Yeah?"
"Dont do anything youll regret.  Just remember that."
     "Okay.  Bye."
     "Bye."

Exactly a minute and a half later, Lance arrived at the door, breathing hard.  He had apparently been running.
     "Sorry
chica.  I had no clue he would pull something like that."
"Its not your fault.  Hes a dick, you cant do anything about it."
Sabrina and Lance ran up the stairs and back to the conference room.  Lance made it a head of her by a couple of feet, and burst into the room.
James turned around in his seat, grinning like an idiot.  "Wow, Sabrina.  I wasnt expecting you.  Hows your day been?"
Sabrina was VERY close to smacking him, but she took three deep breaths, and calmly answered him.  "Im fine, James.  And how has
your day been.  I mean, youre obviously having fun in Im-a-total-jerk-land.  It sounds like your kind of theme park."  She smiled sweetly, pulled out the chair beside Lances seat, sat down, and gave Mike a private hi-five under the table.
Lance looked like he was ready to kill someone, but Sabrina shot him a look and shook her head.  This was not the time to rank on him.  They would bide their time, and totally nail him later, when he was least expecting it.  She pulled out his chair, patted the seat, and smiled at him.  He rolled his eyes at James' back, walked over, sat down, and placed his arm over the back of his chair.  Now, it was James' turn to look like he was going to kill someone.  He hated
all forms of PDA that went on between the guys and anyone, except for family members.
Lance winked at Sabrina, leaned forward on his elbows, and said, "Now, where were we?"
