Strophe 2
In strophe 2, the chorus speaks about how man uses words and thoughts to keep him safe and secure. They say that even though man uses his thoughts to keep him secure, he cannot escape death. "Thoughts as rapid as air" is a simlie. This similie says that man thinks as fast as air moves. Man can think quick, but still cannont escape his fate of death. The chorus is now talking about man's limitations. The chorus feels terror and scared toward this tone.
