Strophe 1
In strophe 1, it says that the world's wonders are "numberless". This word means that there are so many wonders in the world that no one can count them. Then it says that none of these wonders are as "wonderful" as man. "Yields to his prows; the huge crests bear him high", this line is saying that man should be bowed down to and he should be held high on a pedestal. The chorus says that man's furrow's are "shining" and that they work like stallions. This shows that the chorus is proud of what man has achieved. They hold man high on the pedestal.
