| Oh No! My wig fell off in the middle of my dance! What to do- First, don't Panic! If you are in the middle of your dance keep going! Don't stop unless the judge makes some notion to show that she wants you to stop. When you are done, pick up the object you dropped so that its not in another dancers way and hole onto it until it is time to go offstage. Prevent it- Make sure your wig is securly on! I take pieces of my wig all around an bobby pin them to my own hair. Run through your steps/ do some jumps to make sure that it is on proper. Oh No! I Fell During My Dance! What to do- If you just slipped, continue on without stopping. The judge may have not even noticed! If you fell right down and are not hurt, just get right back up and continue dancing. You may get a second try at it. If you fell and are hurt, stay down. The muscician will get the idea and stop playing, and the judge will come over to see if you are alright. Chances are, you will get another go at it. Prevent It- You really can't. You can put black duct tape on the bottom of your shoes to prevent slipping, but falling is something else. Oh No! I forgot My Shoes! What to do- No matter what you forgot, shoes, socks, wig, whatever, you have two options: 1. You can buy a replacement at the vendors 2. You can borrow one from a friend. Prevent It- Double check that you have everything before you leave for the feis. Make yourself a checklist and even get a mom or a friend to check for you. Oh No! I Missed My Dance! What to do- If they are still dancing, go up to the person working the stage and explain your situation to them. Chances are they will let you go to the end of the line and dance when everyone else is done. If your dance is already done, then there is no hope. Prevent it- Stay on top of your stages! Watch them carefully and be on time! |
