Prejudice! Pride and Prejudice! No don't worry; I won't go into that one! (although it is one of my favourite novels of all time!). Judgment! Hypocrisy! all go hand in hand! this page will probably hold the Possible-but-Improbable Theories which I actually believe in, and try and practice - although with the Hypocrisy... hmm....
Just some thoughts to think about...
11:00pm, 5/11/99 Why are we, as girls, allowed to wear pants in the street, but when guys decide to wear dresses, they are labelled cross-dressers?
11:00pm, 5/11/99 Why do people complain about gossip? Everyone is a gossip unless they keep their mouths firmly zipped and not say a word their whole lives! I mean, if you complain that someone is a gossip, you yourself are spreading gossip because you are putting an interpretation into someone's head which may not be absolutely correct!
11:00pm, 5/11/99 (this is one of my favourite nit-picky concepts). Bias is Prejudice. Prejudice is not Bias. Prejudice is when you unfairly judge another because of some little thing that happen to you about them. Though Bias is also unfair judgement, it can also be justified because of some previous offence that was a fair judgement.
11:00pm, 6/11/99 Prejudice is inescapable. Live with it. We are all subject to prejudice; we do not have the intellect to discern the entire truth. So, as a moral in life, don’t judge. Just reason. We shall never have the intellect to know the entire truth but we shall always have the will to make ourselves believe whatever we want to believe: so, in order to keep yourself from going completely crazy with irritations from today’s world, talk yourself into believing things; justify people’s actions when they ought not be justified; justify everything in such a manner as to make yourself believe that they had a right to their actions. And you shall live a far happier life .. . trust me, I know!
11:00pm, 6/11/99 Know this: "He flattered himself on being a man without any prejudices; and this pretension itself is a very great prejudice." [The Crime of Sylvestre Bonnard 1881, Jacques Anatole François Thibault 1844-1924]
7:30pm, 8/11/99 Here I am, complaining about technology, and I’m publishing this page on technological equipment.. . hmmm.. .
11:26am, 30/4/00Making a judgment is easy. Giving that judgment to others, ie giving advice, really ought not to be done, especially where feeling is involved. When making decisions on relationship etc, the people involved must analyse their feelings... nobody else can do that for them. Trying to do this for them will always fail.... more later
7:30pm 13/10/00 Outrageous Statement of the Month: This will most likely - no, _definitely_ piss some ppl off who care to read it, but that is the whole purpose of the "outrageous" statement. I'm going to say, therefore, that those people who are constantly depressed and doubtful of their position in their friendly circle (eg myself) are supremely arrogant.
"Why don't people like me? It's so obvious they don't, they didn't vote for me, when I'm just so much better than THOSE people for that position; I've been through all that, I know better than any body."
Get my point? Such people are too concentrated on themselves, thinking about the attention THEY get and the offence THEY feel. Granted, the need for this is all about insecurity; it's hard to get over. But you have to force yourself. I won't ramble about insecurity here - you know what I'm like about that :)
