MERLIN
Yo, Dudes! Now yer gonna hear a real story. I’m da one dat "lucked" in here, and they all know it. Don’t rightly know how to explain the first part of my life (it wasn’t pretty, though) but I can tell you about these humans – Marilyn and Karren, that took me in. In the early Spring of 1998, they used to throw bread out to the birds, and put out the crunchy cat food for their visiting neighbour cats. Man, was I hungry. (The theory goes that I was given to some kids for Christmas, and tossed out a few weeks later, even though I was just a baby.) Anyway, I thought I should make myself more visible (skinny and runty, and cow coloured to boot). The mother was a real ‘sucker’ and I knew it. When I would spot them coming home from work, I would run like the wind, purr and rub against their legs. Pretty soon, the mother put a nice warm sweater on a lawn chair on her porch for me. Then, if it rained, she made a canopy with plastic and clothes pins so I wouldn’t get wet. She looked out every morning to make sure I was okay, and I would make ‘googly’ eyes at her and get some food. She even gave me whole cans of cat food when she got home from work. This only lasted a while, and they finally brought me in. They made me have ‘that’ operation that male cats really dread, and got me checked out. The doctors found an old wound, that my fur had grown over, that I got when I tried to keep warm during the winter by jumping up into a car engine. I was rudely awakened when I met the fan belt as they started the car the next day. They cleaned it and fixed me up really good, but I still feel as if I have it and worry about it when people touch me. It makes me behave a little ‘wild’ still. I do love all of them though, the cats and the humans. I may even turn ‘sucky’ one day also, but will try not to show it to my bro and sis, or ‘perish the thought’, the humans. I really like the name they gave me too – Merlin – they said I worked my magic on them – isn’t that cute? Now, am I a hunk, or am I a hunk? Even though I am not long haired and my tail is a little skinny. That is the only skinny thing about me, though. I would love to have email from you and will tell you more about the great things we do, etc.

Aren't I handsome ?

I love boxes !
