| Program Options |
The Dance Experience is open to several groups, including: ~Elementary Schools* ~Pre-Schools* ~Daycare Centers ~Home School Groups* *Participating schools/educators may request documentation verifying the Illinois State Learning Standards met by these programs. Option 1 - The All-School Experience An all-school assembly with an exciting multi-media presentation, followed by a short performance demonstrating the 3 main styles of dance. Can be scheduled for beginning or end of day. Option 2 - The Classroom Experience Designed for grades 1 - 5. Individual classroom workshops (can be held in the classroom or in a designated area of the school at the principal's discretion). A 3-part presentation introducing students to the 3 main dance styles, with brief interactive instructional period and demonstration by instructor. Optional age-appropriate dance story at the end of the workshop. Can be scheduled during free period to accommodate educators' lesson plans. Option 3 - The Total Experience A fine blend of Options 1 and 2; individual classroom workshops throughout the day culminate in an end-of-day assembly with performance and presentation. Optional: Students can demonstrate their new moves in an all-school "dance party" at the end of the assembly! Option 4 - The Pre-School Experience A special program designed just for preschoolers. Dance demonstration is followed by a brief instructional period, incorporating creative movement and imagination. Students wind-down with a dance story at the end of the workshop. Can be scheduled for morning or afternoon. Option 5 - The Kindergarten Experience Specially designed for 4 - 5 year olds. Similar to the Pre-School Experience, with slightly more advanced steps and age-appropriate dance story at the end of the workshop. Can be scheduled for morning or afternoon. |
