Red Wings on Parade
The Red Wing parade thingy actually started the day before with drama.  Mandy invited me to go with her and Lindsey, but we couldn't find a ride.  I called Krysta to see if she was going.  She and Glenn were going, but Glenn's little sister Jackie was also going, so there would only be room in the back seat for two more people.  Mandy said she and Lindsey just wouldn't go.  Then Krysta called later and said it was alright by him for people to double-up in the back so they could both go.  I called Mandy.  She still didn't want to go.  Then the phone like died and I said it was too late to fight with her, and it was after 11:30 already and I needed to be up at 5.  It was lots of drama.
On the morning of the parade, I had a super hard time waking up, so I took an extremely cold shower.  Then I made myself breakfast.  Then Glenn came, and he revealed that Jackie decided to not go at all (drama!).  But there was nothing I could do about it then, so I just got in the back of the car and dozed until we got to Krysta's house.  Krysta wasn't out of bed yet, so Mr. Noel came to answer the door without a shirt on, and I laughed.  He dragged Krysta out of bed for us.  I bothered the shit out of Fluffy while we were waiting for her to get ready.  Then we left.  Woo hoo!  Goin' to a parade!
I kept starting to fall asleep in the car, so I made lots of frightfully dumb comments.  We parked on the roof of Cobo and took the elevator down.  The doors started closing on people.  It was a horrifying sight to see.
We picked a spot to watch the parade and put Krysta's blanket down.  Then Glenn had to go do something, but I don't remember what it was, and he came back with a shit load of free stuff from all the radio stations there.  It was fun.  Krysta and I fought over the T-shirts, and we couldn't find them when we went around looking for them later.  Sadness.
It poured for the longest time.  It made me sad.  But half an hour before the parade started, it cleared up, and then it got extremely hot.  A police officer (whom I affectionally referred to as "Porky") kept screaming at us to stand on the sidewalk and not on the street.  A whole bunch of us who had gotten there at 7 had really good seats.  Then the police told all these fuckers who had gotten there late that they could stand up in front of us.  That wasn't very nice of them.  Glenn sprinted through the mob, so he and Krysta were right in the front of the action.  I got crammed in the middle of a bunch of people because I didn't know whether or not to leave our blanket, but our neighbors watched it for us.  I shoved through lots of people.  They got mad.  Then one lady saw I was trying to get up to where Glenn was, and she was like "LET HER THROUGH ALREADY, $%@#&*! YOU!!"  It was nice.  I almost got up to the front.
People liked to push during the parade thingy.  This one old, decrepit wench would put her hands in the air every time a Wings player would go by, so her fucking baggy old arm is in every damn picture I took.  I was not happy, but whatever because I did get a few good ones.  Krysta managed to get a couple pictures of Porky.  That makes me laugh.
After the parade, we cleaned up all our crap and started home.  They were expecting me to pay $20 for a T-shirt before the parade, but then they went "on sale" afterwards for $15, so I bought one.  It makes me feel special.
Conclusion:  I heart the Red Wings, even though people at the parades want to stand in front of me.
No pics yet....so sorry.
