PUTTING THE GUNS IN THE CRATER
Your team of five men grab the guns to set up and reach the edge of the crater with no problems.  Upon arriving at the crater, you all hide yourselves behind nearby trees and check to make sure that the coast is clear.  Once it is all clear, your groups of men slowly descends the steep slope of the crater, often jumping behind small bushes and trees at the slightest movement or sound.  You all reach the bottom without a hitch and are preparing to cross the crater and work your way up the other side when all of a sudden, the crater explodes!
Hawthorn Ridge mine exploding!
You and your men are thrown every which way by the blast, and the cloud of smoke, dust and debris rises way up in the air.  Unfortunately, once the British troops heard the explosion, the rushed to the crater, but once all of the dust and debris had cleared, they found that the Germans had already started digging themselves in on the far side.  The British held the near side for the time being, but soon they had to give up their position there.  This also meant that no British soldiers were able to look for you and your men, and because of the greatness and immense shock of the explosion, you have all parished.  You can now return to the main page, and try again to find a safer path.
