Traci Shell
Director/Choreographer
Traci is the director and choreographer of Dancer's Psalm Dance Ministry. A graduate of UNCA, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Literature, and obtained a teaching license for grades K-6.  She is currently applying to Western Carolina to obtain a second bachelor's degree in Musical Theatre, and also to pursue a minor in dance.  Traci now works as a 4th grade teacher.

Traci genuinely loves her church dance ministry. God laid it on her heart to begin this ministry in late October, 2000.  "I have always wanted to use my talent, my gift, of dancing that God blessed me with in the church somehow, to use it to reach other people. Pastor Sonia has allowed the Spirit of God to move through dance in the ministry of our church, and I thank her for allowing the dream and desire God placed within my heart so long ago to become a reality. But more than that, this ministry is a blessing. I praise God for using me in this way to uplift His kingdom. I used to only dance for myself, to win trophies and attain recognition and the approval of others. Now I just want to dance as the best form of my worship to offer to my Heavenly Father."

Traci's past dance experiences include 14 years of training in tap and jazz, 7 of which were spent in intensive competition training.  She has also studied ballet, modern, hip hop/street style, and clogging.  Traci has worked in three studios instructing students in all levels of tap and jazz, and in some levels of ballet, pre-dance, hip hop, and gymnastics.
Other honors are a performance in the 1996 Paralympic Opening Ceremonies in Atlanta, Georgia, a performance at Coca-Cola Olympic City MainStage in Atlanta, Georgia, dancing as a member of her high school dance and drill teams (including holding the position of Lieutenant her senior year), and several regional and national awards in prestigious dance competitions.

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE(S):
"But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in your weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.-2 Corinthians 12:9

Psalm 149 (Yes, the whole thing!)
