My name is Cecile and I teach beginners and intermediate Belly Dancing in the Albuquerque, NM area.
This is a beautiful and expressive artform that will enable you to rediscover your femininity and improve your self-esteem, exercise and have fun all at the same time. Middle Eastern dance will add grace to your movement, flexibility, and energy.
Also you can enjoy the exotic music that will sweep you away to another time and place during the duration of the class.
I am also available for private classes if you are not comfortable learning in a group setting.
My experience:
I have been learning the art of Middle Eastern Dance since 2001 and have performed on numerous occasions in a group and as a solo, in staged performances. I was performing with the Jacksonville-based Sahara Silk Middle Eastern Dance Ensemble from 2005 til 2007 when I moved back to Albuquerque. I now perform regularly at local venues in Albuquerque such as Burt's Tiki Lounge and The Tavern, among other events, with the Golden Ohm. I also learned Ballroom dancing as a child for 4 years and have always loved dancing in all its forms and music. I am an artist that paints, draws and sews, so I have never been without a project.
