| Robert W. Maines, died as a result of a fall from a roof at the Goshen Coal Co. barn at Surveyor. He was painting the roof. A resident of Surveyor, he was 51 years old and is survived by his wife and children: Doyle of Masten; Harry and Mrs. Millard Kyler of Shawville; Elmer of Altoona; Lois; Fannie; Glen and Carl at home. Also by his mother Sarah (Ogden) Mains and brothers and sisters; Frank of Girard twp.; Wilson and Oswald of Bradford twp; Curtin of Surveyor and Mrs. I. J. (Adda) Hurley of Philadelphia. June 2, 1927 |

| This is a picture of my Dad Ken Maines taken with the sign he created. It was placed in the Shawville area to direct people to Taterville but somebody stoled my dad's sign. I hope whoever took it never enjoys looking at it and is constantly reminded of how they stoled it. And they never have peace. My dad felt bad that anyone could be so rude and rotten and he made another one, only to have it taken. Dad said he would not make another and he never did. Dad taught me to respect other peoples property and also have a respect for community property, it's too bad other dads did not teach the same. |
