| Private Burial Places in Clearfield County Hockenberry Graves, Ferguson Twp. : At Camp Bonarr (second place) by bend at head of a meadow and island in river, along river near waters edge (up), formerly and old road from Grampian (down Spencer hill) forded river and along up old road. Old road split, left uphill to Owens place and right led off to Thos. Owens sawmill, dam, Spencer had a grist mill on this side where Haney Graham lives and Hile est. come to the river, flat field stones, no inscriptions, Hockenberry graves probably Casper and members of his family. Jas. H. Hile, told Anthony, Hockenberry folks were buried there. Hockenberry was a hunter and fisher.. 2, David R. Reed place: In orchard near Owens place formerly belonged to John a son of Casper Hockenberry, Hockenberry likely from Franklin Co., PA. Maybe a dozen graves, unmarked except by flat stones. John sold the property and went west. 3. Kirk Jason, property by road to left going to LC. Memebers of Kirk family, some are marked, other's not. 4. Lumber City Boro: Jas. R. Norris farm, back of barn, Matthew Caldwell, wife Mary (Bloom) and a daughter, marked. 5. Schofield woman: On hill next to woods above Andrew Kreps farm below Lumber City. 6. Mrs. Henry M. Bloom ("Hen" Bloom) buried on their farm at present Greenwood Club house at entrace (side next to town) left side of road. Boy name Williams buried beyond along road where woods comes to road, left side of road beyond Greenwood toward Bickford. Henry, Son of Peter (of William, Dr.) and Mary (McElhatten) 7. William Williams, Jr. had a sawmill up on Anderson Creek, he took sick and died and is buried along the creek, married to Janet (Mead) issue - Sam'l, dau. mar. to Isaac Markie (LaJose) and others. | Names of early white people, adults and children buried in old indian burial ground at mouth of Anderson Creek: Not sure of the spelling, could be Cloner or Clooer or Closer or Clover so I used ? mark. Nancy Clo?er, 1804; Paul Clooer ( her father) 1820 {m. Nancy Mettlera, sister of Mary Mettler, mar. William Bloom, Sr} Children of Peter Clo?er (brother of Paul oldest and 1st son of pioneer John Peter Clooer of Hanover, Germany to N.J. to mufflin Co. Pa, "Clarion county" -1814 died 1831 Mechanicantle, Clarion co. married in Germany, Catherine Shay of Holland both buried at Rohobeth Ch, Brush Run, Clarion co. John Wrigley, father of Wrigley family in Clearfield county Michael Shane, a stranger, likely traveling through the county became ill and died here. Paul Clo?er kept traverlers as there was no place for them to stay along the main roadway. Samuel Ross, also a stranger Son of Caleb Barley, Sr. John Wrigley was 2nd husband of Ann Bailey a sister of Caleb Bailey, Sr. Wife of Thomas Rowles, no name Susanna Bloom and Rachel Bloom, daughters of William Bloom, jr. and Mary (Roll) dau. of John Roll and Mary (Frampton) Not kinship to Clo?er Mettler Bloom Fran???? Bloom, Clo?er, Mettler, Jordan, Hile were from Hunterdon Co. N. J. All possibly emigrated from Germany John Wrigley forbear of Wigleys has son Robert by his 1st wife, he remarried Ann (Barle) Dale, widow of William Dale and had 2 daughters. John Peter Clo?er had 5 sons and 6 daughters 1. Peter; 2. Paul : 3. Philip, Sr. (American Rev. substituted first for his brother-in-law Joacob ?anine but re-enlisted later on his own. 4. John; 5 Issac ; 6. Daughter Nancy, wife and widow of Paul Clo?er after his death (1820) took children and went to Clarion Co. among the other Clo?ers. Peter may have lived here awhile if it's correct about children of Peter Clo?er buried here, he being oldest.
