Any comfortable clothing appropriate for high-level movement. Shorts, sweats, tights/leggings would all be appropriate. Jeans or pants with zippers/buttons/snaps will restrict movement. Dancers may wear athletic or dance shoes. They may not wear street shoes and may never be without shoes.
2. What supplies does she need?
Your child will need to purchase her uniform, tan jazz shoes, a hair piece and tan tights. Children on the competition teams will need to purchase a warm-up jacket as well. Your daughter will be able to try on samples of all dance supplies at Registration on April 2nd 2009. (Returning members 5-6 PM New enrollements 6-7PM)
3. Should I stay at class?
It is not necessary to stay during your child�s class, and the presence of multiple parents may intimidate or distract many of our dancers. We will make every effort to provide a place within the facility for parents who do not wish to leave. If your child has a special need in this or any other area, please discuss your concerns with Kim Zvara, Stephanie Gasper or Ashley Hurst.
4. When do we find out performance times for competitions?
Information on events is often not available until the week prior to our performances. Unfortunately, we have no way of obtaining the information sooner. Times, meeting points and other details are shared via the weekly newsletter. However, our website posts all available links to competitions and events, and details may be posted online before they can be shared in a newsletter. We encourage you to check our website regularly.
5. Is there transportation to and from events?
No. We used to provide a bus, and many families did not use the service. The cost became prohibitive. Carpools are available. If you cannot find arrangements for your child, please contact her teacher and we will assist you.
6. Who do I contact with my questions?
Feel free to talk with your child�s teacher. In addition, Program Directors: Kim Zvara, Stephanie Gasper and Ashley Hurst will be to answer any question you may have. All phone numbers and emails are listed in weekly newsletters and on our website.
7. How will I know what is going on every week?
PLEASE�always open your child's team folder and read your child�s newsletter. Sometimes there will be attachments to return to class. There is always important calendar and class information, and it is our best way to get you information on a weekly basis. We also have a WEBSITE: www.CenterStage-Dance.net that we encourage you to check frequently. Finally, you will have a chance to sign up for our email news.
