CLASS GUIDELINES 1. When taking an aerobic class for the first time, concentrate on the lower body only. When you feel comfortable with the leg movements, add the arms. 2. Be patient with yourself. Give yourself time to become familiar with the choreography. 3. Don't be shy about asking for help. We are here to answer any questions and help with the choregraphy. 4. Work at your own pace, at a level appropriate to you. If you experience fatigue, dizzziness, lightheadedness, nauseua, faintness, or cramping, slow down. You can walk or march in place until you have brought your heart rate down to about 120 bpm. BUT NEVER STOP MOVING IN THE MIDDLE OF A WORKOUT! (unless of course, you need special attention.) 5. Good aerobic shoes are required. 6. Drink plenty of water before, during (only if necessary), and small sips, and after your workout. Try to bring a water bottle and when you're sipping......KEEP MOVING. 7. As always, never bounce when perfroming stretching movements. Hold the stretch in a static position and BREATHE. 8. Always land flat-footed, softly. 9. IMPORTANT: If you know you have to leave early, please let me know before class. If you feel you can't finish the entire class for whatever reason, please call attention either to myself or someone in the class. Cool yourself down by walking a bit first, then stretch your legs. Your health and well being is important to us. 10. Style is not important.............exercise and fun is!!!!!!! ENJOY |
