What is Dan Burrello's Armed Forces Record?
Dan Burrello Served in the United States Army from December 1981 to February 1983. He served with the 2nd of the 9th Cavalry of the 24th infantry division at Fort Stewart Georgia. He has a secret clearance. He is a 50% disabled Veteran due to injuries to his hip and groin. No other declassified service records exist. He attended and graduated from basic combat radio school at Fort Gordon Georgia. And from Basic training at Fort Knox Kentucky.

Was Dan Burrello actually a karate "champion"?
Dan Burrello was rated as the number one fighter for region eight (the southeast) in Karate Kung-Fu Illustrated magazine. He was nationally rated as a fighter from number twenty to number four at one time in 1987. He also appeared on a list of nationally rated forms competitors in the top twenty, three years after he retired from competition.

Did Dan Burrello actually "blow-up" a country fair with explosives?
A flash pod used for a fight scene malfunctioned during a show at the Glynn County Fair which produced a considerable explosion and sent a few people for treatment at the local hospital for light injuries. Dan Burrello did not load or detonate these explosions

As a graduate level psychology student and counselor, Dan Burrello strongly disagrees with the use of addictive drugs. He is active in efforts to reduce addictive drug use among young people.

Yes and No. Yes, he and his partner were awarded a patent for a kick training aid in 1977. That patent has expired.

Did Dan Burrello ever actually teach the Drug Enforcement Administration?
Yes, in 1985, he was contracted to teach two basic agent classes at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. He alos served as a technical advisor on training films for many other government agencies.

Who is to blame for the current rift in Modern Martial Arts/Jodokkdo.
First, there is no "rift" between Dan Burrello and his students. He is in contact with all the active schools and instructors at those schools. Any schools outside of his current contact are unauthorized schools. An organized structure exists for the World Jodokkddo Federation as an instructive and licensing authority, it still functions as a certification entity through Dan Burrello. No certification of a Black Belt in "Jodokkdo", "Jodokkali", "Jodokkjitsu" or "Orginal MMA" systems is legitimate unless conferred or endorsed by a sixth-degree or above black belt in the art directly under Daniel Mark Burrello. This means that only three individuals currently have the authority to grant black belts in JDD and MMA systems. Daniel Mark Burrello, Damon Von Hill, and Jasper Lamar Watts.

What was Dan Burrello's orginal inspiration for beginning martial arts?
Dan Burrello began training in Taekwondo/Hapkido under Young Seon Sil and Young Seon Son in Columbus Georgia in 1972. At nine and ten years of age, he was chiefly inspired by both the comic books BATMAN, GOLDEN FIST and by Bruce Lee's Movies.

Who were Dan Burrello's "original" Black Belts?
Alvaro Jaimez, Kurt Mouldenhauer, Randy Peterson, and Kenny Mouldenhauer, of Berlin Wisconsin were the first students to acheive Black Belt in Modern Martial Arts systmes at the first Modern Martial Arts Academy in Berlin, Wisconsin in 1978. These Black Belts have original rank and though they do not out "rank" other, later Black Belts, they do have more "clout". And have a higher percieved rank. Damon Hill holds the highest rank as a student of Dan Burrello after these four.

Does Dan Burrello Still Teach Martial Arts.
Yes, he occasionally teaches seminars and classes in Jodokkali, Jodokkdo, Jodojitsu and Taekwondo.

Does Dan Burrello hold a Doctorate in Martial Arts Philosphy?
Not yet. And, there is NO SUCH DEGREE in the United States. Dan Burrello holds a Bachelor's Degree in psychology from Charter Oak State College in New Britain CT. He holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. He is a graduate student currently working towards his Masters in Counseling Psychology at University of West Alabama and eventually his doctorate in Education with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University. He believes that those who claim doctorates or other degrees from non-accredited institutions are absolute frauds and should be prosecuted as such.
