Private nudist clubs around the world now allows smoking, drinking and even swinging - but homosexuals and single males are often excluded. These restrictions do not apply to nudist beaches of course. The well educated doctors and clergy are not found in the numbers they once were at naturist clubs. Today nudism is a low income, lower working class activity. This has led to an increasing number of smokers at nudist resorts and nude beaches. Non-smokers are reluctant to return to clubs to put up with this second hand smoke problem. Now the average age of nudists at nude resorts is 60 years old. Many of these senior members have only joined their nudist clubs within the last 5 years. Nudism has become a very low cost retirement option.
