11.02.06-Played at the very cool Luminaire last week. They have a nice disco ball above the stage with spacey blue light around it. We've been singing more 3-part harmonies with Grace and performed "Long Black Veil" for the first time. Recording a couple of Grace's songs in a studio down in south London next week. I put up a my space page for Norton Money at www.myspace.com/nortonmoney. Jeremy's gonna start putting on a monthly night at Bar Cosa so we should be playing down there within the next month.

26.11.05-Hey there. I know I'm slacking on the log entries but hey, I'm back now and that's what counts. I'm rehauling the whole website and trying to get it all modern looking. I'm happy to report that the website is now ad-free, except for my own that try to sell you my cds and t-shirts. I've been in the studio with Grace's band laying down some tracks and oh yeah, I haven't written since the Mountain Jam 2005. That was a blast. Really the ideal place for a band to get away from all the distractions. Next time, we're gonna try to stay up there longer and hopefully everyone can quit their jobs and be up there the whole time. I came up with some song ideas but haven't had much time here in London to work on them more. The snow's supposed to start anytime now so maybe blizzard conditions will keep me inside writing. Oh yeah, I did finish London Songs. I guess I haven't reported that here on the log. I've been selling a bunch of cds while busking to people from (so far) the US, UK, Poland, Italy, Australia, South Africa and Mexico, and some others I can't remember right now. Hope to have an SF gig around Christmastime. Talk to you sooner than later, ok?

14.09.05-I'm going to the mountains for a couple weeks. Talk to you all soon.

15.07.05-Back in London after a bit of an Italy tour. Hung out with Stewart Copeland and his band Gizmo as they rehearsed in a tiny theater built by Napolean in Elba (You wanna talk random?) and saw them perform in Rome. It's hotter here than it was in Italy.

Ok, as far as my music goes, I promise I'll try to finish this cd soon. How about this? It'll be done by the time I go back to California. Hope you're all having a great summer.

24.06.05-Norton Money headlines the 12 Bar Club tomorrow. You should come down and see us. It's been a while since I had a gig on a hot summer night. When we played last June in Sacramento, it was actually kind of cold. Still working on the new cd, London Songs. It's almost there but these things always go slower than you would hope. I'll be back in California in August and hopefully we can rustle up some gigs there.

25.05.05-"The Return of Howdy Hank" world premiere happened yesterday at the Parkway Theater in Oakland. I wish I had been in town to see it on the big screen. Can't wait to hear reports of how it went. It's strange to be in London while an event like that's going on back home. But alas, too many gigs here this week to leave town. A big, hearty "well-done" to Sharon and Geralyn and Joe V. for all their hard work. Take a look at www.howdyhank.com  and buy the dvd, ok?

We're finishing the mix of "If U Feel" on Saturday and Jeremy and I have a gig on Tuesday at Viva Viva. I got www.nortonmoney.com so take a look. Had a great holiday in the Canary Islands last week. Nice beaches and ... English breakfasts?!

09.04.05-I'm getting closer to finishing this London album. Just have to mix down some songs and record some vocals and then it's done. Jeremy's in California until next week so Norton Money will play their next gig on the 24th. It snowed here in London yesterday afternoon. Wind directly in from the Arctic. I miss spring. Ok, enough about the weather. I put a little Norton Money website up at www.geocities.com/nortonmoney2005. Pretty basic still but we'll get some better live photos up there soon. I saw Willie Nelson a couple nights ago. He sure can play that old beat up guitar.

05.03.05-My band has a name: Norton Money. We had a great Sunday-night-braving-the-blizzard turnout at our last Bar Solo gig. We're gonna play a couple acoustic gigs this week before Jeremy goes to California for a month. I'm running out of time already at the internet cafe. More later.

09.02.05-Hi there. How's it all going? Our residency at Bar Solo is going well but now the rest of the band doesn't like the name Western Express so we're once again nameless. Why's it so hard to come up with a decent band name? Soon I hope to have the good news that we have one. Over Christmas, I got to play a gig with the fellas back home at Ireland's 32 in San Francisco. A couple nights later, we played a 1-hour live set on KALX-FM in Berkeley. For some photos, click here. I hope to be back home in the summer for the premiere of the Howdy Hank documentary. I'm still trying to finish this Londonsongs album and then it's on to new stuff. Saw G. Love play an acoustic gig the other night at the Borderline. It was cool to see him in such a small place. Good stuff.

10.12.04-It was great to have Malky in town for a few days. He got up and played a song called "Cuckoo" (I think) at 12 Bar before we started our set. The gig was a whole lotta fun and got us revved up for our gig this Sunday at Bar Solo. Planning to head back home for Christmas and the new year should start with going into the studio with Grace's band. Hope you have a great Christmas.

19.11.04-We had a really fun gig down at Bar Solo the other night. It's great to play cowboy tunes in the middle of Camden for people who've never heard anything like them. Adrian even played some Allman Brothers before we went on. It was a bit like being home. Anyway, we're gonna be playing down there every 2 weeks or so. As far as I know, Malky from my old band Land is gonna be in town for the gig at 12 Bar. I haven't heard from Toby for a while but hopefully he can make it. I wanna record some of these songs with the whole band in a proper studio but in the meantime, I'm widdling away at my home recordings.
