| I believe in the Ogopogo. July 9th seems to be my lucky days. I say lucky days because I have videotaped what I believe to be the legendary "Ogopogo" on July 9th 2001 and 2002. My sightings were 1 year apart to the hour. "Ogopogo" is Canada's "Loch Ness" and is believed to lurk under the deep waters of Okanagan lake in British Columbia. July 9th, 2001 @ 1159am -1201pm It was a Monday, I had the day off from Peachland Watersports where I work and had decided to take a few friends wakeboarding. As we headed out onto the lake (towing a jetski to the boat launch as a favour to the boss) my friend Luke noticed something breaking the surface across the lake. I started filming and got what appears to be a 35-40 foot serpant like creature surfacing. The pictures on the left are digital stills taken from the original copy. The animal appeared to surface infront of an area commonly known as Reluctant Dragon Cove.It then swam about 50 feet offshore of Rattlesnake Island and slowly submerged. The other people on the boat were amazed at what we had all encounterd. You can hear my friend Steve saying "That was trippy dude," and other suggesting that we throw someone in for bait. My footage was forwarded to the penticton chamber "Find ogopogo 2 million dollar contest" but was denied because it didn't show a definitive unidentified animal. July 9th 2002 @ 1107am - 1110am As soon as I came around the corner I saw 2 definitive Ogopogo's in the middle of the lake. I jumped out of my 4 runner and started taping. It was like deja vu, here it was exactly one year later and I was videotaping even better proof that this animal existed. It appeared to the left of Rattlesnake Island but in the middle of the lake. It was the best video by far of Ogopogo breaking the water. Some people say that these were waves but in both video's I have made sure to show that there were no boats in the area. As you can see it was calm on both days too. Since my first sighting I have been named the Okanagan Representitive for the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club. I have also worked with various production companies from around the world. [email protected] |
