Directions for building your own roll cage

1. Go to your LHS (local hobby shop) and get some STYRENE            TUBING. It's white tubing, probably found with the model railroad        stuff.  Get whatever size you think you need.  I use two different          sizes for mine.

2. Get a candle and use this to bend the styrene tubing.  Styrene gets  very soft when you heat it up.  Roll the styrene over the flame about    1 1/2 times,  while slowly puting even pressure on it.  Once it starts    to bend, take it off the flame.  The styrene can be bent many times.

3. Make sure that you bend the styrene so that it is flush with the roof    of the body, as well as the front A-pillars.  On the back C-pillars, it   should not touch and there should be a small gap.  You'll need to  make two main supports for each side of the roof.  Make sure that you measure everything and are making sure that it fits.

4. As for the cross-members, this is up to  you, but i make an x-pattern  across the roof, as well as an x-pattern for the back window.  You   should put at least one cross member at the roof and back window.

5.  Now, to attach all these pieces, you can use super glue, or               something else that is very strong.  I used super glue and test  dropped it from 6 feet, and i worked fine.  You should make some kinds of c-cuts in the styrene tubes so that they mount flush with  the other tubes.

6.  As for attaching it, you can shoo-goo it to the body of the car, or  somehow attach it to the chassis or shock towers, or whatever else    you can think of.
