Our household includes four people, four cats, and a gerbil (though the gerbil hasn't supplied a recent photo). There is more here on the cats than the kids, because we can tell you where we got such great cats, but we can't tell you where to go to get such great kids! Samantha is into books and music and art and her cat Lily, and Kate is into books and dance and music and her cat Norman. |

Four people, all really very happy to be in one photo together. |

Four cats, who get along marvelously with one another but are only all in one photo frame at mealtime. |

First, there were Norman and Lily who we adopted as kittens in July 2003 from the wonderful people at Lago Vista PAWS (www.lvpaws.org). They are not littermates, but they seem to consider each other family. |

Next came Lew, in August 2003. He's a big friendly guy and he and Norman quickly became buddies for napping and wrestling purposes. He came from Central Texas SPCA, a terrific shelter. (www.centraltexasspca.com) |

Norman's mother Abby (on the left) was still at Lago Vista PAWS, so early in 2004 we brought her home too. We are grateful for the shelter's no-kill policy, which allowed Abby to stay at the shelter long enough for us to come back to get her. She was about two years old. We think she was glad to see her kitten Norman again. Here they are, sitting parallel. They've also been spotted washing each other, and they have many similar likes and dislikes. |
