at Gypsy Tea Room  Dallas,TX

This was the first show I have ever been to alone so I really wasn't sure of how much fun I was going to have. Thanks to the Sequel's awesome fans I had a great time. First up was DV8, a 3-piece pop/punk band from Midlothian, TX. They may be young but that doesn't mean they can't rock out! These guys always put on a rad show with thier punk vocals, crazy guitar riffs and fast drum beats. It still amazes me after seeing them over five times how good they are for being so young. I mean yeah, you can practice hard and get good at anything at any age, but it's just so amazing to see kids at this age playing music and loving what they do. DV8 played a great set and I had a fun time watching them play. Good show boys. Next was Darlington, but due to car trouble the drummer couldn't make the show so the guitarist/lead singer played an "acoustic" set.  It was pretty good considering it was his first time playing alone. I've seen Darlington before and it was different, but cool to hear some of their songs without everything else. I was really impressed. The third band to play was The Sequel. The band that in my opinion, played the best set of the night. The Sequel has so much energy while playing, it makes you feel like you are up there playing with them. Not to mention, not one of their fans wasn't jumping, dancing and singing along at the top of their lungs. The Sequel opened their set with the song "Crash and Burn", a song that can be downloaded from their website, www.thesequelrocks.com.  This song is so catchy and probably my favorite song by them. I can't wait for their full length to come out. It's been said to have an October/early November released date. Overall The Sequel played a great show and I will definitely be seeing them again in the near future. The last band to play was punk sisters, The Eyelinlers. This was my third time to see them and I was pretty excited to see them play. They only played a couple old songs and mostly new songs so I was kind of dissapointed but they still put on a good show. Their guitarist, Gel is insane. She is always moving and playing behind her head. I love it. As for Laura, she didn't play drums because they usually have a tour drummer so she just sang and played rhythm guitar for a few songs. The Eyeliners played a fantastic set and I can't wait until they are back in Texas.  Overall the entire show was so much fun and if you get the opportunity to go see any of these bands play, please go because I guarantee you that you will have a good time.
