With Senses Fail's EP "From The Depths of Dreams" coming out just weeks before the show I was so pumped to see Senses Fail's live show for the first time.  Cat and I arrived at the venue a couple hours early so we could walk around downtown Dallas before the show.  After walking in the Texas heat and looking in all the cool shops we went back to the venue to meet up with some friends of mine.  We walked around the venue trying to find shade and finally found a log in front to sit down and wait for the doors to open at.  Finally, a van pulls up with a trailor on the back.  Senses Fail have arrived.  They all pile out and start unloading all their equipment. After a while more and more people started lining up and Christi, my show buddy, who wasn't able to come to the show in the first place showed up at the show.  I was so happy that she got to come at last.  We were all so excited and finally were let into the venue. We went up in the balcony so we could video tape from a good view without being knocked around by everyone.  The first band that opened for Senses Fail was Letter Twelve, an amazing band from Mansfield, TX.  I had seen this band a few other times and it was probably the best I had seen of them.  The band always has tons of energy and I love seeing them play. They played about five songs and it was great to see so many people rocking out to a band the majority of them had probably never heard.  Letter Twelve always has such an insane show no matter how many people they are playing for.  The second band that played was Clover Street. They were alright.  The acoustic song that the singer/guitarist played was really good and probably the only song I enjoyed of theirs. They were still pretty good, though. The third band that played was Northstar. Surprisingly, it seemed as though more people were there to see them than Senses Fail. Northstar played a really nice set and I would love to see them again. In the middle of one of their songs they stopped playing and started playing "There's No I In Team" by Taking Back Sunday.  Everyone went crazy and started singing along.  It took me a few seconds to realize they were playing Taking Back Sunday.  My first thought was "hmm, I didn't know I knew the words to any of their songs".  After Northstar's set a few people left and I was so sad. I wanted everyone to stick around for Senses Fail.  Once they were all set up they started playing the beginning of the song "Steven" and everyone went wild.   "Steven" is the first song on the EP and I thought it was a great song to get everyone moving.  After that song I handed the video camera over to Christi so she could takeover while I went to go take pictures. I found a great spot on the side of the stage where I had a pretty good view of all of the members except for Dan, the drummer so I had to go backstage and up by the Drum risor to take pictures of him.  While they were playing "Ground Folds" someone got hurt and they had to stop playing.  After the kid got taken care of they started playing from right where they left off.  Once Garrett, one of the guitarists, started playing the opening guitar part to "187" everyone yelled and went crazy and some kid got on stage and sang the whole beginning to the song. I wanted to go kick the kid  because I love the vocals at the beginnging of the song,, but im sure he was having a great time. In the middle of the song Buddy, the singer yelled "everyone get the fuck on the stage" and by the time they finished the song there were about 20 kids up on stage jumping,  singing and having the times of their lives.  It is such a good feeling to see musicians having a good time with their fans and actually interacting with them.  I cannot wait to see Senses Fail again on July 18th with Brand New. Senses Fail is now definitely one of my favorite bands.
