| Have you ever gone to a show just because you have nothing else to do? Well that is pretty much what I did tonight. I am so incredibly glad I did too. I arrived at Club Indigo not knowing who was playing when or what a couple of the bands playing even sounded like. When I walked in I had no idea I was going to come home a huge Count The Stars fan. At the time I got there August Premier were just finishing up their set and from what I heard they were playing a pretty rockin' show. I didn't really get to see their whole set so my opinion of them is pretty much useless. Next up was Lucky Boys Confusion. I downloaded some of their songs on mp3.com a couple years ago and made a CD with their music on it but never really stuck with them. I was so excited to see them play just to see what they have written since the last I heard of them. Lucky Boys Confusion played a great set. The vocals are much better live just because Stubhy has a really strong voice and I love that about their band. I don't know about you but I hate watching a band play live when their vocals aren't too snazzy live. Oh the wonders of recording. After Lucky Boys Confusion's set ended I was pretty excited to see Count The Stars because I had only heard one song by them about a year ago from a friend from Maryland. My friend Amanda met me up there and she was there to see Count The Stars. From the start of their first song until until the end of the first song I was totally blown away. Usually it takes one of my favorite bands to put a huge smile on my face and to get me moving, but not this time. I don't think I have ever been so amazed by a band's live performances without hearing their music more than once. For the style of their music I totally didn't expect so much energy and movement. I love when I can go see a band play good music and rock out at the same time. I can tell Count The Stars love what they are doing and live every minute of their lives for it. That is what music is all about. Once Count The Stars' set was over i was so pumped and hyper I couldn't sit still. I went over to visit the merch tables to see what everyone had out. It made me laugh to see Lucky Boys Confusion's little sign next to their merch. It read "Lucky Boys Confusion needs a place to stay tonight...but we can't gaurantee you the saftey of youre little sister!" After talking to all the guys of Lucky Boys Confusion and Count The Stars I went back to the stage to prepare for what I thought would be an awesome show from Allister. I never really have gotten into Allister but I decided to stick around anyways and watch them. They played a fun live show and im sure the people who were there to see them had a great time. I am so glad I went to the show and I really hope if you get a chance to go you take it. |
