The Used, Taking Back Sunday, The Blood Brothers
at Tree's  Dallas,TX
by: danae
This show was everything and more than I thought it would be. Three of my favorite bands all in one night.  I couldn't really ask for more. First up was The Blood Brothers and I was not even close to being ready for their live show. Never have I seen a band filled with such a great amount of energy.  They were constantly moving from one side of the stage to the other and crowdsurfing to the very back of the club and back to the stage. Numerous times the vocalists lost their microphones in the crowd.  The Blood Brothers played my favorite song by them "Rescue" and I couldnt help but sing along and have a good time. After their set while Taking Back Sunday was setting up, I went back to the merchandise tables to get a Blood Brother's t-shirt and I met the whole band while i was back there. All of the guys were more than willing to talk and they thanked me for coming out to see them.  They were all really great guys. After I bought my t-shirt I went back up to the stage because Taking Back Sunday had already started their set and I didn't want to miss one second of it. This was the first time seeing them and I love their record "Tell All Your Friends".  Taking Back Sunday started off the night with a great performance of "You Know How I Do".  Adam, the lead singer is such a showoff, but in a good way.  The whole entire time he was dancing and swinging the microphone all around nearly hitting someone each time. He had great energy and it was fun to watch him dance. Taking Back Sunday is a really fun band to see live because they are one of those bands that can stop playing any song at any point and everyone in the room will be singing at the top of their lungs. When Adam, the singer started singing the first few words of "Cute Without The "e"" everyone in the room went completely nuts, including myself. After Taking Back Sunday's wonderful set, everyone waited a good twenty minutes while The Used were setting up all their gear. Finally after all the waiting and complainging, The Used started their first song "Maybe Memories", which is also the first song on their self-titled CD.  This was my second time seeing The Used, but last time I saw them open up for Boxcar Racer so this time on their headlinging tour they got to play a little bit longer and I was pretty psyched about that. They played my favorite song on the album "Choke Me" which is a hidden track with crazy vocals. During their set, Bert McCracken, the vocalist, got a bloody lip and blood was dripping off his face onto the floor and he didn't wipe it off or anything. It was pretty nasty, but rumors are, Bert occasionally slips one of those those "fake blood tablets" in his mouth to shake things up a bit. Either way I think it's rpetty sick, but funny at the same time. After their show my friend Kara and I went out by their tourbus and talked to the boys of The Used for a bit and took pictures with them. THey were all so nice and happy to meet a couple of their fans. I can't wait until Warped Tour so I can see these fabulous boys grace the stage again. Also, The Blood Brothers are coming back in a month or so and I can't wait to see them again. As for Taking Back Sunday, they have no tour plans as of yet but once they schedule some Texas shows I will be sure to be there.
