Roman Dirge
At Roman's web site they said this picture was taken by Jhonen Vasquez. Hmmm....
Roman Dirge is the creator of the popular comic Lenore. When he was younger and still in school his art teachers told him that he would never make it as an artist. His teachers told him his art style was crude. (HAH! Sounds like my lil art situation. Dumb ol' Mr. Freewald saying my art style was satanistic. I'll show him. Mr fat dumb butt munch....Oh Sorry back to Roman...)
Well N-E-Wayz....Roman ignored his stupid teachers (thank god) and started drawing a comic strip for Xenophobe magazine. That comic strip was a story about the cut little dead girl. Readers of the magazine loved it and wanted more.
Romans also a magician. And he even stopped doing the comic thing to pusue the magician thing. (I have a very low vocab so thats why most of the contents of this web site may sound like it was typed by a 3 year old.)
Roman met Dan Vado, the president and owner of
Slave Labor Graphics, before stopping comics to become a magician. After a year of the magician thing he met back up with the SLG people and the first ever Lenore comic book was published.

Okay this sounded alot like the bio at Roman's official web-site. Maybe because that where I got the info from. So to keep from getting in trouble. (Which I probably already am.)  Go here
