| Dear Danae, Thank your for letting me know what's up. First off, I disagree. Just because people buy Roman's books, it does not mean that they have bought a person as well. They bought a book, they got a book. Even trade. Roman had been very cool about keeping his fans up to date on his projects as well as his personal life. He is not obligated to do this, he does this out of respect. Even the SpookyLand website was built as a fun place for the fans... he didn't HAVE to create it. How many other artists have such elaborate places for their fans? How many other artists allow themselves to be so accessable to their fans? Not many. I would hope that anyone who has such information or is privy to the private goings ons of their lives would just be cool and keep things to themselves until an official announcement could be made (if that ever became necessary). Roman would let you all know, and he'd do it with the respect and tact that such a thing would deserve. Roman even asked me to delete that message. I waited all day long till I could get a hold of him before I did it. We talked about it, and in the end he said that it just wasn't cool, and not appropriate. I deleted the message from the board because it was very uncool to talk about that stuff right now. I hoped people would respect that and understand that it is a very personal matter and to just trust in Roman to do what's right This person seems to have a grudge against me because of it, and has threatened to do things at Comic-Con that would be very embarrasing and hurtful to Roman and Lisa. I find this dispicable. If they have a problem with me... take it out on me. Don't punish them. They are having a hard enough time with things as it is, without "fans" stabbing them in the back. In the post on the board, this person talks about "support and caring". I find this an odd way of showing it. Dragging their personal lives around through the street for everyone to see? That's disgusting. If they have a problem with me. I'll take whatever they want to dish out. But I'd prefer they leave my friends alone and keep it off the message board. I'll be at Comic-Con... they can yell at me, insult me, throw eggs at me, whatever they want to do. Just don't do anything as hurtful to Roman and Lisa as to air their private business in such a lewd manner. I say this not only because it is right and decent, but because they are my friends and I care about them very, very much. We aren't hiding the truth. We're waiting to see how things work out... and when the time comes, we'll do what's right. I all ask is that people trust us, and show them a little bit of respect. Please. Wouldn't you want the same if it were you? Sincerely, Christopher SpookyLand Webmaster |
