The
Forest queen of Gulg Lalali-Puy has
heard that an elf with strong links in the Hill district in the city of Nibenay
has come into the possession of a fabled suit of armour. This armour was thought
to be lost over 2000 years ago. Due to the armour being constructed of the hide
of a dragon, the queen of Gulg would like to possess it, as she is curious to
its origins being a dragon herself. The queen has charged her High Templar Mogadisho
the task of tracking down the armour and getting it to the city.
The
armour is currently in the hands of an assassin known only as The
Shade, and Lalali-Puy knows nothing as to where he came across the
armour. The elf is supposed to undertake job contracts via an elven seamstress
named Gall-Inda. It is said
that the elven seamstress is married to the Shade but know one knows for sure.
In
truth the Shade is the Shadow Master of the Raiding Claw of the Nibenay Talon of
the Shadow elves. One thing for sure is that the Shade is mute and needs Gall-inda
too speak on his behalf. In the past he was named Quantis Copperleaf, that was
once an academic slave in the city of Draj. One day he was working in the cities
great library and happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when an
argument erupted between two drajan high templars. Even though Quantis kept his
head down and carried on working one of the templars spotted him and made
arrangements for him to be silenced immediately and sentenced to death. While he
was awaiting execution the other templar who he had heard plotting with the
templar who had his tongue cut out came to visit. He told Quantis that if he
wanted to live he would arrange for his prison cell to be left open at midnight,
an escort would take him to the home of the high templar and once there he had
to silence him permanently. Once the job was done the templar said Quantis was
on his own. From that day forward Quantis became an assassin and after
completing his first ever assignment he traveled the whole region learning new
skills and silencing many. This made him one of the most highly paid assassins
in the whole Tyr region.
On
one of his last missions on behalf of House Shom the Shade was contracted to
dispose of a raider leader who was raiding Shom caravans in the Bandit States
far to the north of the region. When the Shade faced his adversary he did not go
down as easily as the Shade had expected. He almost lost his own life, as the
weapons he was using did not penetrate through the hide of the armour. The
killing blow came when he was laid on the sand at the feet of his prey and as
the raider leader lifted his sword high over his head and with laughter spilling
from his open mouth the Shade struck. With lightning fast reflexes the shade
threw a razor sharp dart at the warrior’s open mouth, the dart sailed true and
the warrior fell with a look of disbelief on his face. Many people witnessed the
epic battle and news spread fast. Even the crowd saw that the armour the Shade
took from his conquest had no scars of battle so must be of magical enchantment.
It was one of these very same rumors, which brought the armour to the attention
of the Oba (Forest Goddess) of Gulg Lalali-Puy.
In
this adventure the party are hired to travel to the city of Nibenay and acquire
the Dragonskin armour by any means necessary. The best way to do this would be
to have Gall-inda kidnapped and the Shade would find the party. Once the party
has the armour they must immediately return it to Gulg.
