The Wedding Day
The wedding was perfect. Everything went smoothly. I'm
still getting compliments on how beautiful everything was. John
looked handsome in his tux and held up pretty well. I, on the other
hand, cried during most of the ceremony. But like my sister said later
that night, I either don't cry at all or I ball. There is no in between
when it comes to me. I was so overcome with joy and excitement, I couldn't
keep it all bundled up. John and I were very pleased with how
things turned out. After the limo took us away from the church,
we rushed home, changed and headed out to dinner. I was starved. I had
a bight of cake, a strawberry and one quiche at the reception. Warning
to all future brides. . .hide at some point during the reception so
you can eat (or grab a meal before the wedding). After the limo brought
us home we finished packing for the honeymoon, stopped my moms for some
travel supplies (left over reception food for the drive to Florida)
and then headed back home to open gifts.
The Honeymoon
Well since we stayed up so late opening gifts and getting
things packed, we got off to a late start. We left around 8:00 am. We
made it to Orlando though around 10:00 pm. It was a nice drive down
there. Drove through lots of snow in Georgia. We had a great
time in Florida. The temperature wasn't what we expected but after a
couple of shopping trips to several outlet malls, we were equiped with
warm clothes for the rest of the week. Disney World was so much fun.
I've always had fun there with my family but going with my husband
was a completely different experience. We went to MGM Studios
and it wasn't too busy. We were able to take our time and see just about
everything we wanted. We spent Thanksgiving at the Magic
Kingdom. WOW!!! I think everyone in Florida had the same idea we did.
It was so crouded but we made it fun. We rode everything. There
were rides that John had never riden before so it was nice to get to
experience those with him. There were several news rides added since
I had been 5 years earlier. Anyway, John and I had a lot of fun. We're
wanting to go back soon (John mentioned going for New Years Eve).
The Holidays
Our first Christmas was great. We had a chance
to spend time with both our families over the holidays. We were lucky
enough to get our wedding album in time for Christmas. My mom had my
bouqet freeze dried and put in a display case for me for Christmas.
It was wonderful getting to relive the wedding day by looking at the
pictures. I can't wait to see the video. It should be ready this month.
Misc.
Now that the wedding is over, I don't have much to do.
I have to write Thank you cards now that the holidays are over. Valentine's
Day and my birthday are coming up. Our one year engagement anniversary
is January 17. I guess I won't be updating this site much. I'll try
to do it monthly. My next site will hopefully be a pregnancy site!
Note to all future brides. . .Don't try to worry too much
about your wedding day. Everything will turn out perfect. All that matters
is that you and your future husband are happy. Everything else will
fall into place. Good luck and best wishes.
Thanks to our family and friends for all your love and
support. We wouldn't be here without you all.
Love,
Dana and John Davis
